	Assistant/Associate Professor
	Corn Breeding and Genetics

The University of Minnesota has established a 12-month, tenure track
position in corn breeding and genetics supported by a permanent endowment
funded by corn growers, seed corn companies, and the University.  The
successful applicant will conduct research on corn breeding methodology
including the application of biotechnology, participate in
undergraduate/graduate education, and develop improved corn germplasm
consistent with changing and improving production practices.  Areas for
research emphasis are open; the incumbent will work with the endowment
donors to establish research program directions.  Ph.D. required by date
of appointment.  Applications should be received by November 1, 1998.

statement of research and education interests related to this position,
