One study had a density of 40,000 plants/ha; the other at about 60,000
plants/ha.
The traditional ag systems in the region plant roughly 4 to 8 plants/m2,
with several kernels planted in single hole, commonly at planting depths of
12 to 15 cm (some plant even deeper!).
