Postdoctoral Position Available

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to continue on-going
research on the molecular and genetic control of lateral branching in
petunia. Three Decreased apical dominance (Dad) genes function in petunia
to suppress branching at the earliest nodes on the main shoot axis, and a
mutation at any one Dad locus induces lateral branch development. The
successful applicant will work on a project to isolate Dad genes by
transposon tagging and carry out genetic and molecular studies to determine
the control of lateral branching. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in genetics,
molecular biology, or a related field. Experience with transposable
elements and developmental genetics is preferred. Please send a resume
along with a statement of research accomplishments and aspirations to Dr.
