Postgraduate Researcher, The Pennsylvania State University
Tomato Disease Resistance

We are seeking a postgraduate researcher with an M.S. or a Ph.D. degree in
plant pathology or related fields. The individual should have experience
with plant fungal pathogens and disease resistance. The responsibilities
would include screening of tomato populations for disease resistance, and
collaboration with other members of the group to genetically map and
identify resistance genes and transfer of genes via marker-assisted
selection and/or genetic transformation. This is a multidisciplinary
project seeking to use conventional techniques of plant breeding and plant
pathology and contemporary techniques of molecular biology to understand
the genetic control of fungal disease resistance in the genus Lycopersicon
(Tomato). Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable for a second. Send
letter of interest, cv and the names (with telephone numbers and email
