Bioinformatics Position - Maize Physical Map

Research Associate/Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) position in 
bioinformatics is immediately available to construct a public 
physical map of the maize genome. You will lead an experienced team 
of fingerprinting technicians to generate and assemble over 400,000 
HindIII fingerprints derived from two newly constructed NSF funded 
BAC libraries of B73. Research will be conducted at the Clemson 
University Genomics Institute (CUGI) (http://www.genome.clemson.edu/) 
in cooperation with the NSF funded Missouri Maize Project and the 
University of Georgia Sorghum Project where the BAC libraries are 
being anchored to the maize, rice and sorghum genetic and physical 
maps. The successful applicant must be highly motivated and organized 
and have experience in physical map construction using FPC and UNIX 
based operating systems. Candidates with a background in maize 
genetics and/or comparative genomics are preferred. To apply, send a
