A postdoctoral position is available to participate in a
multi-institutional maize genome project. The goal of the project is
to identify and clone genes important for maize endosperm development
using a high throughput gene cloning strategy that will be developed
as part of the project. There will be outstanding opportunities for
the development of independent research projects. Iowa State
University provides an excellent research environment and is home to
other genome projects in maize, soybean and swine. The lab is
affiliated with the Plant Genomics Center in the newly established
Plant Sciences Institute

molecular biology skills, experience in cDNA library construction and
excellent organizational skills are required. Starting salary is
