ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Salary: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience Position Open 
To: Duties and Responsibilities: Establish a vigorous, externally 
funded research program in the basic processes of molecular biology, 
cellular biology or development of plants. Research programs using 
model systems and/or genomics approaches are welcome, and application 
of these approaches to strawberry is encouraged. The successful 
candidate will have the opportunity to develop a course in their area 
of expertise, be expected to participate in graduate education, chair 
graduate committees, and supervise thesis and dissertation research.

Basic Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in molecular 
biology or a related field as well as postdoctoral and/or academic 
experience. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate 
teaching, research and publication capabilities as well as possess 
skills in oral and written communication.

Other Information: Plant molecular biologist/geneticist; 80% 
Research, 20% Teaching. The Horticultural Sciences Department, the 
Program in Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology, and the UF Genetics 
Institute offer a rich academic environment for basic research and 
the opportunity to address application of modern methods to plant 
improvement. This is a 12-month appointment with a competitive salary 
and support package commensurate with experience. Implementation of 
the Affirmative Action program of the University of Florida is 
required. The Horticultural Sciences Department is a unit of the 
Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences of the University of 
Florida (IFAS). The department has 30 research, teaching and 
extension faculty at Gainesville and 41 affiliate faculty stationed 
at various Research and Education Centers throughout the state. The 
graduate training and research environment at the University of
