  POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW

Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. is the world leader in the discovery,
development and delivery of elite crop genetics. This Postdoctoral Fellow
position is located at our Woodland, California Research Station within the
Trait Genetics Department, Product Development. This person will implement a
field-based discovery research program aimed at development of quantitative
techniques for measuring ear, kernel and tassel development in maize
germplasm subjected to drought stress at flowering.  The Postdoctoral Fellow
will plan and conduct field research to develop high throughput quantitative
techniques for measuring these components under various environments.  The
Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to interact with engineers and automation
specialists in designing and evaluating equipment for measuring these
critical processes in maize reproductive development.  This person will
manage field plots, data collection and analysis, write technical reports,
and transfer technology developments and research findings to other research
groups within Pioneer. The successful candidate must demonstrate a high
level of organization, innovation, and an ability to manage multiple tasks
simultaneously.  Must have proven proficiency in field research techniques,
preferably in sink/source and plant water relations.  Skills in field and/or
lab automation technology are desirable.  Some international travel is
