Postdoctoral Research Associate

University of Florida

Seed composition genes in maize:

A postdoctoral position is available immediately to develop non-destructive
techniques for the identification of seed composition mutants in maize.  The
position will involve characterization of visible and non-visible mutants
that alter protein, starch, or oil composition in the kernel.  The research
will utilize spectroscopic, biochemical, and genetic techniques with the
goal of molecularly identifying composition genes.  Candidates should have a
recent Ph.D. degree with a strong background in molecular biology, genetics,
and statistics or bioinformatics.
