Does anyone have a microscope slide of maize chromosomes (presumably
a permanent pachytene preparation) that they could donate to the
Bruce Museum of Arts and Science for a McClintock exhibit?

Sincerely,

Phil Stinard
Curator

Dear Dr. Stinard,

I found your contact information on the website for the Maize Genetics
Cooperation, and I apologize for writing to you out of the blue.

I am curating an exhibition at the Bruce Museum of Arts and Science in
Greenwich, CT on the history of women in science. I am featuring Barbara
McClintock in the show, and I am preparing an interactive station on maize
chromosomes.

I am hoping you can help me find microscope slides of maize chromosomes
(for a Wentz microscope). I have not been able to find them at educational
suppliers like Carolina Biologic or Ward's Scientific, or at Cold Spring
Harbor Laboratory's Dolan DNA Learning Center.

If you have any information that will help with this great slide search of
mine, please let me know.

I look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,
Louise Palmer, PhD
