Delaware partners with TIGR, DuPont & Agilent for Unique Ph.D. Program

The University of Delaware Department of Plant and Soil Sciences is
accepting applications for a new Plant Biology graduate program in
partnership with The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR), DuPont
and Agilent Technologies. This program, called the Integrative
Training Option (ITO), gives Ph.D. students the opportunity to do
laboratory rotations and carry out dissertation research in any lab
in the ITO network. This includes faculty labs at TIGR, DuPont,
Agilent, the Delaware Biotechnology Institute, and the Department of
Plant and Soil Sciences at the University. All locations are within
a two-hour radius of the University of Delaware allowing frequent
exchange visits. Video conferencing will network all ITO students
and faculty via courses, seminars and scientific discussions. For a
list of faculty, research topics, program information, and the online
application procedure, please see http://ag.udel.edu/research/ito .
The review of applications will begin January 15, 2006. ITO students
will be supported with competitive stipends, and accommodation
supplements for TIGR rotations will be provided.
