The /Medicago truncatula /community have created a new handbook to serve
as a fundamental resource for researchers using this model legume. This
handbook is freely accessible on the internet at
_http://www.noble.org/MedicagoHandbook/_ and is an ongoing project with
regular updates and additions that will rely on users to keep this
resource up to date. Each chapter is dated to identify its version.
The handbook contains chapters on the biology of /M. truncatula/ in
addition to a range of detailed protocols for the use of /M. truncatula/
in research. The includes available resources, handling /M. truncatula/
as a whole plant, transformation methods, as well as a range of genetic
and genomic tools.
Any additional chapters or suggestions are very welcome and can be sent
to Ulrike Mathesius (ulrike.mathesius from anu.edu.au
<mailto:ulrike.mathesius from anu.edu.au>), Etienne-Pascal Journet
(E_tienne-Pascal.Journet from toulouse.inra.fr_) or Lloyd Sumner
(lwsumner from noble.org <mailto:lwsumner from noble.org>). We hope that this book
will be a valuable resource for the Medicago community and beyond.
This handbook now has the following ISBN number: 0-9754303-1-9.
Many thanks to all the contributors who have made this book possible and
in particular to Lloyd Sumner for his ongoing effort in setting up the
Ulrike Mathesius (for the Medicago steering committee).
