The release notes are available at: http:// www.plantontology.org/docs/release_notes/index.html In this new release, the major difference is that we introduced over 8000 rice QTL from Gramene Database (www.gramene.org) into POC, cereal researchers are encouraged to use PO terms to describe Plant Structure and Plant Growth Stages associated with their QTL of interest. One example ( PTHT, QTL for plant height ) can be found at: http://www.plantontology.org/amigo/go.cgi? action=query&view=query&session_id=4865b1173468682&query=plant +height&search_constraint=gp To view other changes please visit the plant ontology browser available at http://www.plantontology.org/amigo/go.cgi The new ontology files and the database dump is available for download. The venue for the symposium is MU's Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center. The symposium begins on Tuesday the 22nd and ends on the 24th with the speaker/student/postdoc dinner. There will be a satellite symposium that will overlap with this year's symposium on Plant Proteomics. This satellite meeting will include a joint session on phosphoproteomics on the afternoon of the 24th. For more information including the list of invited speakers, instructions for registration and abstract submission can be found on the Missouri Plant Biology Symposium web page. http://www.plantgroup.org/symposium.php Please bookmark the Symposium Web page to keep up to date with meeting information. The Missouri Plant Biology Symposium is small with registration limited 250 attendees. The registration deadline is May 1, 2007, but early registration is encouraged to insure participation. Abstracts for Oral Presentation and Posters To be considered for an oral presentation, abstract must be received by April 14, 2007. To be included in program, poster abstracts should be received no later than May 1, 2007. See the symposium website for information on abstract submission.
