sambrook et al mention guanadine+ethanol; formamide+dialysis
as alternatives to phenol-chloroform-isoamylalcohol for
removing protein and fat from dna. if anyone has run parallel
samples phenol-chlo versus guanidine ; phenol-chlor versus
formamide, i would be interested to know:
differences in yield of DNA
disadvantages of these other methods
a reply to an earlier request stated that oncor has a kit
using saturated NaCl for cleaning DNA and the yields were
the same. oncor 301 963 3500.
