VNTR (Nakammura 1987 Science) and Jeffrey probes are two of the
highly polymorphic probes uses to assess genetic relatedness. If
anyone has successfully used these or other highly polymorphic
probes to assess house mice or other relatively-closely related
mammals, I would be interested to know:
  (1) recipes
  (2) which of the VNTR or other probes were highly polymorphic
For example, spermidine should be omitted from the hybridization
solution for the Jeffrey probe.
