Prep-a-Gene

Sandra Pena de Ortiz has posted a plasmid preparation for double-strand
sequencing which uses Bio-Rad's Prep-a-Gene. Prep-a-Gene is described in
the catalog as "a unique matrix that binds single- and double-stranded
DNA in the presence of high concentrations of chaotropes" which gives a
product that does not require desalting.

This sounds just like powdered silica (glassmilk, Geneclean) purification (the
subject of number of recent postings). Does anyone know what Prep-a-Gene is?
