4% Nusieve gels are fragile but they are not too hard to handle if you use an old piece of X-Ray film cut down to size [Ok if all of your sequence gels/Southerns/etc are perfect then just develop a new peice of film]. Just slip it right under the gel and lift it out. it works really well and you don't have to buy a spatula to get covered with ETBR.
