PCR Cloning & Mutations

Hi! I have some clones that look like steroid hormone (zinc finger) receptors
but the deduced amino acid sequence shows several termination sites internally.
These genes (cDNAs) were amplified with PCR prior to cloning and then
sequencing. Could these termination sites (3 within 200 bases) be the result
of mutations introduced by PCR? Could they be sequencing errors? I hope
some could comment on this.
