We have some Western blots which have been developed
 with a peroxidase system, stuck in lab books, and
 left for future reference and photography. Coming
 back to them, we now find that the stain has continued 
to develop over time, bringing up non specific bands 
that were not present initially.

Does anyone know why/what is happening (apart from the obvious),
 and what can be done to stop this over development?
