"chromic acid" replacement?

We use a detergent from Pierce called PCC-54 for all of 
our glass and it works very well. If you have some super
nasty goo increase the PCC-54 concentration and heat
it up to a boil for a few min. It is non-toxic and fairly
enviromentaly friendly.
