No more wedge gels?

I've used the buffer gradient system for a couple of years with good success.
We use 1X TBE and also find a temperature gradient. It has caused a bit of a
problem when separating plates. The gel tends to stick to both plates. I get
around the problem by letting it sit on the bench for 10 - 15 min before
separating the plates.
The 1M acetate doesn't cause a problem when fixing and drying.
