Hello Group:
I read a paper in BioTechniques of May 1992 by Haines and Gillespie concerning
RNAse Protection assays done using crude cell lysates in Guanidine thiocyanate.
There were a couple of related articles in Analytical Biochemistry cited as
well. This seems like an interesting and time-saving way of doing this
procedure, and now a kit is available as well.
Has anyone tried this method? Does it really work?

P.S. re: a comment made in another posting about using kits: Sometimes they
are a nice way to overcome intimidation at a new procedure.
