hi, this is in reference to the iodogen reagent problem:
my supervisor (Colin Dingwall) says:
1. use plastic tubes
2. use a gentle stream of nitrogen to blow off the chloroform, instead of
a vacuum
3. the chloroform must be dry (use a fresh bottle of it)
two other factors: the reaction is dependent on the protein concentration
and the
amount of iodogen in the tube. for references see BBRC (1978) vol 80 pp
849-857 and
Biochemistry (1978) vol 17 pp 4807-4817)
hope this helps!
