GUS activity in Tomato

In response to a previous request for information on measuring GUS
activity in tomato;
Most plants studied (42 out of 49) show endogenous GUS activity!
Beware, those of you trying to use GUS as a transgenic reporter. Tomato, of
course, would have to be one of the ones showing such endogenous GUS activity.
Tobacco and Arabidopsis are both safe though. :-)
