Simply add an equal volume of chloroform for the volume of mineral oil, vortex,
and draw off the upper aqueous phase. this has the additional advantage
of being an organic extraction, which is all that is needed to remove the
Taq polymerase in my hands. I then add a fith volume of 10 M ammonium
acetate and a volume equal to the aqueous volume of isopropanol and precip.
This will leave behind all the primers in the supernatant as I have measured
by using radiolabeled primers.
