Carbenicillin update

With regards to my previous comment on carbenicillin resulting
in fewer colonies, poor choice of words.  Carbenicllin is
indeed hydrolyzed by the beta-lactamase, but it is more
resistant and consequently the hydrolysis is slower.  This is
by word of mouth from several colleagues over the years as well
the USB catalogue which says the same thing.  Apparently, the
level of beta-lactamase that is secreted (leached?) into the
media is not enough to locally wipe out the carbenicillin in
the vicinty of colonies by the next day.
