DNA secondary structure

After successfully PCR'ing freshly isolated DNA from lambda gt11
containing an insert of plant DNA, I have found it will not PCR
after even a few days storage at -4, -20 or -70 oC. Apart from
possible contamination with DNAses, is it possible for DNA with
highly repetitive sequences to fold or associate in such a way
after storage as to block the PCR reaction?

Thanks in advance
