Glycogen for DNA Precipitation

I routinely use 1/50 volume of 10mg/ml glycogen for precipitation of nucleic
acids. I make up a stock in sterile water and just use the cheap stuff
from Sigma (cat#G-8751). I have heard of people extracting the stuff before
using it but I haven't found the need so I don't. I precipitate on ice for
10 minutes before centrifuging. Best of luck.
