If I remember correctly it's actually a product used for polishing. It's sort of a tough, fibrous papery material, perhaps something like mylar. I think we used to get it from a kitchen supplies place. Great for preparing protoplasts. If no one else comes up with a better reference, I'll try to run it down for you.
