RNA from blood

If the blood is from a patient with a very low white blood cell count, this
would be a problem. Normal blood should be fine.
If you are using the RNA for reverse transcriptase PCR this will be a problem
if you have  contaminating hemoglobin [which inhibits Taq pol]. Therefore,
how are you quantifying your RNA?
