Hi Netters,

Does anyone have the E.coli strain JC8679 as used for in vivo cloning of
PCR products in E.coli, NAR, Vol 21 No. 22, pp5192-5197. Failing that an
Email address for Bert Vogelsteins's Lab at The John Hopkins Oncology Centre
at Baltimore.

For those who have never heard of in vivo cloning of PCR fragments then go
immediately to your library and find this paper. It promises to be a
fantastic way of cloning PCR products easily - basically take linearised
plasmid and your PCR product with at least 50bp of homology between the
plasmid ends and PCR product ends. Mix and electroporate. No ligation
required the E.coli does it for you! The above sbcA,recB,recC strain helps
enormously with up to 100% cloning efficiency. Sounds easy eh!
