Lambda-exo to make sDNA

Hello,

A while back there was some talk I believe about using lambda exonuclease
to turn a double stranded PCR fragment into a single strand. The PCR was 
done with one of the primers kinased. Has anyone used this method, was 
there a reference to it, does anyone have comments on its use?
