I have always used acetic acid:

                        46% (v/v) Methanol (EtOH works almost as well)
                         8% (v/v) acetic acid 
                        0.2% (w/v) Coomassie Blue R250

destaining w/ :         50% (v/v) EtOH
                        10% (v/v) acetic acid

... smells good too!
