Plant Nucleic Acid Isolation

I have been using a new method (Cheung, ASM Meeting Las Vegas, June, 
1994) to isolate RNA from plants and yeast. The method rapidly isolates
clean RNA within a matter of minutes. I use CTAB with variable results 
depending upon the species. I have been testing a large number of other 
detergents but would like to learn of any recently tried detergents.
