Oligo Cloning

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has tried (and succeeded) subcloning a
ss oligo into a ds plasmid similar to the cutting and ligation step
diagrammed below:

    CATG................................CATG
...C                   |                    C...
...GGTAC               V                GTACG...
   NcoI                                  SphI

There have been a few papers describing this method, but I was curious
if anyone had perfected the technique to the degree that a large
library of randomized sequence could be made. I would appreciate any
