e.coli transformation question

Did somebody try the transformation protocol described in
Meth. Enzymol. 218: 621-627 (1993, Chung a. Miller) ? It is a
one step procedure using TSS-buffer (PEG,DMSO,Mg2+ in LB) and authors
claim to get 10E7-10E8 /yg DNA.
