Poly A RNA

Is there any way of evaluating the quality of mRNA after putting it thru a 
polyT column ? I want to run it hru a primer extension protocol but
don't want to waste materials on mRNA that is crappy... the total RNA
that it came from looked good on a gel, but if anybody has any additional
tests before I do the extension I'd like to know about them.
