You might want to look into designing a computer interface for an automated
bread machine.  It has all the correct elements for a thermocycler:  Heat, 
thermostat with computer control, fan, and enclosed chamber.

If an RS-232 port were included, then one could perhaps hijack the firmware
into making the machine cycle up and down.  PCR reactions in glass capillary
tubes would probably be best used, for good heat responsiveness.

If you patent the design, I'd like a cut . . . :>
