In my hands the procedure from CPMB Manual (1.13.7) for liquid lysates worked well with the host SRB, supplied by Stratagene with DASH libraries. However, it is true that some clones give yield much lower than usual, for those one has to optimize phage to cell ratio on infection, even then they may not propagate efficiently. Hope this helps.
