Tunicamycin has been used to demonstrate that the insect system recognizes and modifies the same sights as the mammalian system. Can tunicamycin now be used to in the culture media to block glycosylation of a bacterial protein in either the baculo or pichia systems. What effect does it have on yield, etc. Are there other ways to produce "non-glycosylated" proteins in either of these systems?
Thanx.
