site-directed mutagenesis and PCR

HI!

I have been working on SDM/PCR for a little while now.  I've finally 
amplified two products that when denatured and mixed with each other will 
hopefully combine.  I need to extend each of the products and then do 
another PCR to amplify the mutant.

I want to know if I can use Taq to extend the products, and then just 
proceed with my PCR.  Can I just set everything up as if I'm doing a PCR??
