Dear Eric:
	Competition with unlabled genomic DNA should work just fine for you.
This procedure works routinely in our lab with human genomic clones. The 
original reference is Litt & White (1985) PNAS 82:6206-6210. They recom-
mend preannealing labeled probe and total cold genomic DNA, but it works 
just as well most of the time if you denature, mix, and add it to your
Southern.
