DNA from Biopsy

I have been asked to find methods for recovering bacterial DNA from tissue
biopsy specimens using guanidine thiocyanate. The specimens contain human
infectious agents, so the procedure should quickly inactivate them. The DNA
only has to be used for PCR, not cloning.

I have no hands-on experience with handling solid tissues, only blood.

Any advice or references to such a technique would be appreciated.
Thank you.
