This is straight out of "Data for Biochemical Research", a book
by Dawson et al which is probably available at every biomed library.
Some of the buffers they list are
Glycine-HCl, pH 2.2 - 3.6
Clark & Lubs, pH 2.2 - 4.0
Citric acid - Na2HPO4, pH 2.6-7.6
