DEAE dextran transfection of RNA into a "delicate" cell line

The DEAE dextran protocols I have seen are for introduction of DNA
into hardy mammalian cell lines. Need any input on DEAE-dextran mediated
transfer of RNA into not so hardy cell lines. I am using C710 cells, a
mosquito cell line that a) cannot tolerate drying, b) can easily be detached
from attachment to the culture flasks merely by washing with medium.
