If your vv/T7 expression is only occuring on the edges of your plates, you
probably are only infecting those cells. You must swirl the inoculum over
the plate frequently before adding media, a general tip. You can test this by
looking for expression of vv antigens via immunoflourescence/staining to show
where your virus is. I predict it will only show up where the b-gal activity
did. Your problem is likely to be in the infection.
