lambda PCR problems.

i am having problems amplifying out a 500 bp fragment from a lambda gt11 
template using lambda primers flanking the Eco site...basically i get a 
faint band of the correct size and a strong band at 100 bps. Attempts to 
reamplify the faint band yields the 100bp product (!!!!) Im pretty sure 
that the primers don't sit on the insert.
