Hi Folks,
As we are all aware patents abound in the PCR field. To date only the enzyme
patent had been vigourously pursued. Now it appears Perkin Elmer has decided
to pursue the machine patent it holds. It is alleged that they have issued
four US companies (or companies with US offices) with infringment suits.
They are asking for a $100,000 license fee and a royalty of $360 per
machine. I have no idea had valid their claim is but yet again we may have
to dig into our pockets with regards PCR.
