Can anyone cite a reference that discusses in detail (more detail than
found in Current Protocols) the identities of the various bands seen on
agarose gels after electrophoresis of M13 single-stranded DNA (i.e. the
supernatants after spinning cells down)? Why does the ssDNA migrate as a
doublet with constant spacing irrespective of insert size? What are the
critical factors in getting a good yield of this doublet without excess
contamination with the common (bacterial chromosome?) band? Thanks!!
