Re: Your question of how to remove RNA from alkaline minipreps

There is a very easy way to get rid of most of the RNA from alkaline
minipreps. One simply adds an equivalent amount of 4M LiCl to the
resuspended miniprep DNA and puts the mixture on ice for 2 hours. Spin
for 3.5 min at 13K and remove the supernatant which contains your
purified DNA. Precipitate the DNA with 2.5 vols of EtOH, wash with 500ul
of 70% EtOH, dry under a vacuum, and resuspend in ddH2O or TE. Good
Luck.
